This Privacy Policy explains how the iPalettes mobile application (the “App”), published by EKProApps (“we”, “us”), handles information when you use it on iOS and Android. iPalettes is a color-palette tool for creating, extracting, and organizing color palettes from photos.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide

iPalettes has no login or user account. We do not ask for or store your name, email address, phone number, or password.

1.2 Photos and camera

To extract colors, the App can access photos you select from your library or capture with your camera. This access is used only to generate palettes on your device. Selected images and the palettes derived from them are stored locally and are not transmitted to us.

1.3 Photo search queries

If you use in-app photo search, the words you type are sent to the third-party photo services Unsplash and Pixabay so they can return matching images. We do not receive or store these search terms.

1.4 Automatically collected data (analytics & diagnostics)

We use Google Firebase to understand how the App is used and to detect and fix crashes. This may include:

• App usage events (screens viewed, features used)
• Crash reports and diagnostic logs
• Device information (model, OS version, language, region)
• App instance identifiers and non-precise usage data

This data is collected in aggregate/pseudonymous form and is not used to identify you personally.

1.5 Device identifier and free-tier usage counts (Android 3.0+ only)

This section applies to iPalettes for Android 3.0 and later. Earlier Android versions have no free-tier limits and store no counters on our servers.

The free tier of iPalettes on Android includes a fixed allowance of image searches, camera captures, album openings, and palette exports. That allowance is a total, not a daily one — it does not reset each day. It is increased only when you choose to watch a rewarded video. So the allowance cannot be reset simply by clearing the App’s data, reinstalling, or changing the device clock, the counts are kept on our servers rather than only on your device. The iOS app is a paid download with no free-tier limits, and stores nothing of this kind.

• What is stored: a device identifier (on Android, the system Android ID / SSAID; a randomly generated identifier is used if that value is unavailable) together with, for each of the four features, how much allowance the device has been granted and how much of it has been used; the number of rewarded videos watched; and the time the record was last updated.
• Where: Google Firebase Cloud Firestore, in a document keyed by that device identifier.
• What is not stored: no search terms, no images, no palettes, no account or contact information. The counters are numbers only.
• Why: to enforce the free-tier limits fairly. This is the App’s only server-side record of your activity.
• How long: because the allowance never resets, these numbers are kept for as long as the record exists — they are not overwritten daily. You can ask us to delete the record (see 7 below).
• The identifier is not linked to your name or any account, and is not used for advertising profiling or shared with advertisers.
• iPalettes Pro users are not subject to free-tier limits, and the App writes no counters for them.

We also use Firebase App Check with the Google Play Integrity API to verify that requests to those servers come from a genuine, unmodified copy of the App. Play Integrity evaluates the app and device and returns a verdict to Google; it does not give us your personal information.

1.6 Purchases

iOS. iPalettes is a paid download. Apple processes the payment; the App itself has no in-app purchases and receives no payment information.

Android (3.0 and later). Android versions before 3.0 have no in-app purchases at all. From 3.0, iPalettes Pro is a single one-time purchase processed entirely by Google Play Billing. Google Play tells the App only whether the product has been purchased, so the App can unlock the paid features and restore them after a reinstall. Refunds and payment questions go through Google Play.

On both platforms, we never receive or store your card number, billing address, or any other payment detail — the store handles all of that.

1.7 Advertising (Android 3.0+ only)

The iOS app contains no advertising of any kind and does not use your advertising identifier. Android versions of iPalettes before 3.0 contain no advertising either, and do not use your advertising identifier. The rest of this section describes iPalettes for Android 3.0 and later.

On Android 3.0 and later, iPalettes shows no banner, interstitial, or automatic ads. The only advertising in the App is an optional rewarded video that you can choose to watch to raise your free allowance. Nothing is shown unless you tap to start it, and skipping it never blocks a feature.

Rewarded videos are delivered through Unity LevelPlay (formerly ironSource) mediation. LevelPlay selects which advertising network fills each request; the networks it can use are Unity Ads and Google AdMob. When you request a video, the mediation SDK and the network that wins may access your device’s advertising identifier (the Android Advertising ID) along with basic device and network information, in order to select, deliver, and measure the ad. That identifier is controlled by you: you can reset it or opt out of ad personalization in your device settings at any time.

Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland), the App presents a Google-provided consent form before any personalized ad is requested, and your choice is respected. iPalettes Pro removes ads entirely.

2. How We Use Information

• To provide core features — creating and extracting color palettes.
• To operate photo search through third-party providers.
• Android 3.0+: to enforce the free tier’s usage limits, and to verify that requests come from a genuine copy of the App.
• Android 3.0+: to unlock and restore the iPalettes Pro purchase.
• Android 3.0+: to deliver an optional rewarded video when you choose to watch one.
• To monitor stability, diagnose crashes, and improve performance.
• To understand which features are used so we can improve the App.

We do not sell your personal information.

You can revoke permissions any time in your device settings; some features may then be unavailable.

5. Data Retention

Palettes and images you create live on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App. Firebase analytics and crash data are retained per Google’s Firebase retention settings.

On Android 3.0 and later, the free-tier usage counters described in 1.5 are running totals that do not reset, so they are retained until the device’s record is deleted. They hold numbers only — no history of what you searched for, captured, or created. A device’s counter document is deleted on request (see 7 below). Purchase records are held by Google Play, not by us.

6. Children’s Privacy

iPalettes is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided us information, contact us and we will address it.

7. Your Rights

Because we do not maintain user accounts, we hold little to no personally identifiable information about you. You can:

• Delete all locally stored data by uninstalling the App.
• Disable analytics via your device’s advertising/analytics settings.
• Android 3.0+: reset or opt out of your Advertising ID in your device settings, which limits ad personalization. The iOS app uses no advertising identifier, and neither do Android versions before 3.0.
• Android 3.0+: request deletion of your device’s free-tier usage counter (1.5) by emailing us from the device in question. Because there is no account, we will ask for the device’s Android ID (Settings → About phone, or via the Google Device ID lookup) so we can identify and delete exactly that record and nothing else. Deleting it also clears the allowance already spent on that device.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR or CCPA, including access, correction, and deletion. We honor applicable requests.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.
